12 week Metabolic Balance - A Program to help you reverse Insulin Resistance

As I was developing my group program offerings for promoting Heart Health and getting to the root cause of heart disease which is inflammation, I stumbled across an issue I needed to solve before even starting to recommend heart healthy foods.

A lot of my clients were coming to me with some stubborn excess weight that they weren't able to release and a lot of them had developed insulin resistance over the years (Also known as metabolic syndrome, fatty liver disease or prediabetes). If you're wondering if you are insulin resistant, take a look at your blood work: if your ratio of triglycerides to HDL Cholesterol is >3, you're likely insulin resistant.

Once you are insulin resistant, you are basically unable to process Carbohydrates. When you continue to eat Carbohydrates even though your body is resistant to insulin, this will contribute to an increase in inflammation in the body. Since the major root cause of heart disease is inflammation, it would be irresponsible to put insulin resistant clients on my heart healthy diet that contains lots of heart healthy carbs (think Beets, Quinoa, Pomegranates, dark leafy greens etc.)

So, I needed to be able to offer a program that could help them reverse their insulin resistance first and get to the root cause of their inflammation (Us holistic nutritionists, we are obsessed with helping you get to the root of your symptoms!).
